Important Soy Candle Burning Tips For Jar Candles

• When lighting a jar candle for the first time, be sure to burn your candle long enough (approximately 1 hour for each 1" of diameter) for the melted wax to completely pool or liquefy to the outer edge of the jar.  This first burn is known as the candle "memory burn" and is very important to insure your candle does not tunnel during future burns.
 
• To maximize burn time, to get the best benefit of the fragrance throw, and to minimize wax left on the sides of your jar, each time you burn your candle burn it for 3 to 4 hours.
 
• Always keep your candle wick trimmed to approximately 1/4".  Always extinguish the flame before trimming the wick.  Also extinguish your cande before replacing the jar or container lid.
  
 
• Keep your candle wick centered by repositioning it quickly with a metal object such as a metal spoon handle. Never allow the flame to come in direct contact with the side of your container.
 
• Keep your candle out of drafts.  Burning a candle in a draft will cause the candle to burn unclean producing black soot.  If your soy candle is producing black soot the two main reasons for this would be caused by the wick being more than 1/4" or the candle burning in a draft.
  
 
• Discontinue the use of your candle when there is 1/4" of wax remaining.  This will prevent potential heat damage to any surface. Use of a coaster to protect your counter surface is recommended.
